Burrell Lodge - Brighton
No. 1829 Consecrated 1879. "Sub Liberate Quietem"
Welcome to the Grate and Mighty Burrell Lodge

The Master, Officers and Brethren of Burrell Lodge welcome all visitors to our website. We are one of the older Lodges in the Province of Sussex, being the 23rd oldest out of 161 Lodges in the Province and are proud of our history and traditions.
Our Lodge continues to thrive and to provide assistance to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Sussex in all its charitable work.
The Lodge Meetings take place on Thursday evenings, leaving the weekend free for Family and other activities.
Burrell Lodge has several social functions each year, involving the partners, families and friends of its members, details of these events canbe found in the Lodge Social Meetings section.
Members of the Lodge are pleased to help and advise anyone considering joining the Craft and the Lodge.
This Website contains a brief description of the History of Burrell Lodge and of the Burrell Family. The information to provide these brief histories has been taken from the booklet produced for the 125th Anniversary of the Lodge by Bro. Frank Gorf who acknowledged the earlier works of W.Bro. A.J. Carpenter in 1900 and W.Bro. Percy Frost who updated the history for the Centenary of the Lodge in 1979. A tree showing the interlinking of the Sussex Lodges can be found in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Sussex website. A summary of the Banners of the Lodge used in its lifetime is included, together with a brief history of the Burrell Family, who were closely connected with the Masonry and with the Lodge.
The website also contains a section giving the news regarding the Lodge, its members and the forthcoming Masonic and social events. The Lodge prides itself on ensuring that the wives, partners and friends and families of the Lodge members can share in several social gatherings. It is tradition that, on the Installation of the new Master of the Lodge, the Master’s lady invites the other ladies to a dinner held at or near to Sussex Masonic Centre.
